Crybaby. That was Cristiano Ronaldo’s boyhood nickname for always bawling in tears each time his team lost. A trait that he carried even after he had joined the pro-leagues.
Ronaldo is also one of the few soccer players who have made over 1,100 career appearances and at least 800 official senior career goals for club and country.
Cristiano went for a three-day trial with Sporting CP, a well-decorated and respected club based in Lisbon, also known as one of The Big Three football clubs in Portugal.
He debuted in the Premier League on 16 August 2003, carrying the same number worn by some of the best football players, namely George Best, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham.
